Orexplore AB
Advacam Oy
ADVFI designs, manufactures and sells digital material resolving colour X-ray imaging cameras for nondestructive
inspection in oil and gas, aerospace and electronics industries. In these industries, high quality
lightweight materials are the key construction elements for modern vehicles or lighter devices. Inspection
and quality assurance for defects, impurities or cracks in these materials is therefore important. With our
cameras challenging defects such as deep laminate wrinkles, kissing-bonds, delaminations, porosity,
foreign objects and micro-cracks in the soft materials can be detected with spatial resolution of 55 μm or
better. In addition to the detection of the defects, the camera allows identification of materials in the X-ray
images by measuring changes of the X-ray wavelength spectrum.
Advacam s.r.o
ADVCZ was established to commercialize the technological results of IEAP CTU in Prague (Institute of
Experimental and Applied Physics, Czech Technical University in Prague) in field of radiation imaging
with particle counting imaging detectors for ionizing radiation. This technology, originally developed
within Medipix collaboration based in CERN, provides superior imaging performance comparing to
currently imaging techniques with additional advantages, such as are: ultra-high contrast, “colour”
material resolving radiography and fully digital registration of individual ionizing particles such as X-ray
photons or gamma rays. This technology is applicable in several fields, namely X-ray and gamma ray
radiography for industry (non-destructive testing), biomedical applications, safety and security, education,
research such as physics, material science, biology, etc. The mission of ADVCZ is the development of
new imaging methods enabled by novel detector technology and their implementation into practical
applications of our clients.
Antmicro Ltd
Antmicro is a technological company providing hardware and software development as well as system
integration and product development services within the field of embedded systems and FPGA, dedicated
for various, predominantly industrial, markets. ANT works with, enables and integrates new technologies,
often serving the role of early adopters of various new hardware solutions within the field of
heterogeneous CPU/GPU/FPGA processing systems and industrial IoT. The company works with
customers that are looking to bring technological innovation into their focus fields, and provides custom
engineering services, customized platforms and tools. One of the focus areas is vision systems, where
new, high-performance platforms are enabling unprecedented advancements in terms of video quality,
processing speed, system size, power usage and integration level. With a track record of work involving
computer vision, video-processing systems as well as high-speed signals, particularly those involving
FPGA SoC such as Xilinx Zynq and CPU/GPU systems such as the NVIDIA Tegra/Jetson, ANT is
looking to further deepen its involvement in the area, especially in view of the growth of embedded deep
learning and artificial intelligence, which is a strong focus in its current activity.
Hellas Gold S.A.
Assarel Medet JSC
Assarel Medet JSC Mining and Processing Complex is the first, biggest and leading Bulgarian company
for open pit mining and processing of copper ores providing around 50% of the national production of the
vital metal for the human development - copper. The company is the biggest and main factor for the social
and economic development and the image of the municipality of Panagyurishte and the district of
Pazardzhik. It has a structural-determinant significance for the Bulgarian economy, as one of the leading
industrial company with an important contribution to the raw materials independence and Gross Domestic
Product of the country.
Hellenic Copper Mines Ltd
HCM was fοunded in 1994 in Cyprus to revive the country’s mining industry by exploiting the existing
low grade copper and gold reserves of Cyprus, starting from the ancient mines of the Skouriotisa area
which are located in the North-West of Cyprus.
HCM strives to apply state-of-the-art and environmentally-friendly technologies to mine exploitation.
After extensive research, HCM was the first mining operator in Europe to adopt the selective mining
technology of bioleaching - solvent extraction – electrowinning (also known as hydrometallurgy). This
modern and environmentally-friendly selective mining technology produces extremely pure copper
cathodes (99.999% Cu), which are exported to EU countries. .
Geological Survey of Sweden
Geological Institute of Romania
Institutul Geologic al României (IGR) was founded in 1906, with the mission of a national geological
survey. Now it works under the National Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation, which is
coordinated by the Ministry of Education. IGR holds three entities considered of national importance: the
National Museum of Geology, the National Drill Core Repository and the Surlari Geomagnetic
Observatory, the latter being part of the world geomagnetic network (Intermagnet).
Uppsala University
Uppsala University was established in 1477 and is the oldest university in Sweden. The University has 15
faculties, 6000 emplyees and 40 00 students. The Department of Earth Sciences is part of the Faculty for
Science and Technology, and constitute seven programmes (Mineralogy, petrology and tectonics,
Geophysics, Paleobiology, Air, water and landscape sciences, Natural resources and sustainable
development, Center for sustainable development and Campus Gotland). It has been considered as one of
the most comprehensive academic departments of Earth sciences in Europe by international assessments
covering subjects from stratospheric studies, glaciology and geohazards through, evolution of early life
and Paleozoic biodiversity to tectonics, experimental mineralogy, economic geology and active
seismology in addition to applied research like noise and water pollution, CO2 sequestration and other
aspects of sustainable development.
Bergskraft Bergslagen AB
Bergskraft Bergslagen AB is the operative arm of Bergskraft Bergslagen Ekoonomisk Förening (Association) that was formed in 2009 as a result of a series of EU regional development funded projects with mining and mining related environmental research and business development as the common denominator. Bergskraft Bergslagen AB conducts activities that aim to promote sustainable mining, research, development of technology that can mitigate the threat from historical mining waste, seek ways to alter “waste” in to a resource and in general terms, work for mining to be part of the Bergslagen mining regions sustainable development and economic growth.
