The X-MINE consortia had a two day general assembly and a technical meeting on 27-28 November in Cyprus. All partners where represented. In the first day various details regarding different mineralisations and their response to X-Ray and sensor technologies was discussed. Practical details regarding how to analyse drill core and how to use the new XRF-technology to sort ore from waste was also discussed in large detail. On the second day, X-MINE visited the partner organisation Hellenic Copper Mines at their Cu-Au-mine in Skouriotissa in Cyprus. This mine is probably the first place ever where copper was extracted as early as at about 3000 BC. The consortia discussed amongst other things, how new XRF-technology can be applied at this world famous copper deposit.
